How to build a frame
Start with a corner
Place the corner at the top left. Turn on 4-Way symmetry and it is copied to all four corners at once.
Run the border
Place the border strip along the top, starting right after the corner, and repeat it until you reach the next corner.
Do the sides
Use the vertical version of the border down the left side. Flip it horizontally for the right side, and flip the top strip vertically for the bottom.
Mix and match
Every strip and corner is 12 stitches deep, so pieces from different sets line up, and you can nest a rose vine frame inside a Greek key frame.

Frequently asked questions
Are these cross stitch borders free?
Yes. Every border and corner on this page is free to open, edit and stitch from in the Xstitchify editor.
How wide is each border?
Each border strip is 48 stitches long and 12 stitches deep, about 3.4 x 0.9 inches on 14-count Aida, and repeats seamlessly so you can make it any length.
How do I turn a border around a corner?
Place the matching corner first, then the border strip after it. Each border has a vertical version for the sides, and the flip buttons turn the strips and corners for the other edges.
Can I put a border around my own pattern?
Yes. Open your pattern in the editor, make the canvas a little bigger, then add a corner and border strips from the Design Motifs tab in the stamp picker.
