About Xstitchify
Xstitchify is a set of cross stitch pattern making tools designed to be genuinely useful - whether you're making your first pattern or your hundredth. Everything runs in your browser, works on any device, and produces print-ready PDFs compatible with Pattern Keeper and other popular stitching apps.
The tools are built around real pattern-making jobs: turning images into charts, creating stitchable text, designing from a blank canvas, adjusting colours, calculating supplies, and downloading patterns that are ready to use. The goal is to make the creative part easy so you can focus on the fun part: the stitching itself.
What's included
- Pattern maker - Turn any image into a cross stitch pattern with automatic DMC thread matching
- Text generator - Type any text and generate a stitchable pattern with 45+ fonts, custom colours, and live preview
- QR code generator - Create cross stitch QR codes for WiFi passwords, URLs, wedding invitations, or anything else

Designed for any device
Xstitchify works on iPad, iPhone and Android as well as desktop, because it is a web app. Sketch a pattern on your iPad with Apple Pencil during your commute. Tweak colours on your phone over a morning coffee. Do detailed editing on your laptop at home. It all just works in your browser - no app to download, no updates to wait for, no platform limitations.
Always improving
Xstitchify is actively developed and updated regularly. New features, improvements, and fixes go out as they're ready.
Who makes Xstitchify
Hi - I'm Louise, the person behind Xstitchify. The idea came from wanting a design tool that fits around real life - something you can pick up on the sofa or on the go whenever an idea lands, instead of being tied to a desk with clunky desktop software.
My background is in graphic design - fonts, patterns, print design and publishing - and Xstitchify grew out of the tools I wanted while working on cross stitch books. By 2022 I'd started building a private browser-based toolkit so I could design from my iPad instead of being tied to a print workflow or desktop software.
By January 2026 I'd accepted that I wasn't going to publish all the books I'd planned, but the tools I'd built along the way might actually be useful to other people. I was honestly surprised no one else had made something like it, so I launched it warts and all - and the response has blown me away. Since then I've been gradually making more of it live, with plenty still on the roadmap.
Every feature exists because it solves a real pattern-making problem, not because it looked good in a marketing brief. That is still how I decide what to build next.

I read every message that comes through the contact form. If something's broken, if you have an idea, or if you just want to share what you've made with the tools, I'd love to hear from you.
