These terms govern your use of the Xstitchify website at xstitchify.com. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, please let us know - or simply don't use the site.

What Xstitchify Is

Xstitchify is an online tool that helps you create cross stitch patterns from images, text, and QR codes. We also provide a fabric calculator, DMC colour reference, blog content, and a pattern editor. Some features are free; others require a one-time premium payment.

Your Account

You can use many of our tools without an account. If you create one, you're responsible for keeping your login details secure. Please use a strong password and don't share your account with others.

We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that are being used to abuse the service (e.g. automated scraping, spamming the pattern generator, or attempting to circumvent rate limits).

Free Tier & Premium

Free users can generate up to 3 patterns per day. This limit may change as we adjust the service.

Premium is a one-time payment that unlocks unlimited pattern generation and the ability to save patterns to your library. There are no recurring charges or subscriptions.

Payments & Refunds

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Because this is a digital product that provides instant access, we generally cannot offer refunds once access has been granted. That said, if something has gone wrong or you feel you've been charged unfairly, please get in touch and we'll do our best to make it right. We're reasonable people.

Your Content

Images you upload remain yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you create or upload. We process your images solely to generate your pattern and don't use them for any other purpose.

Patterns you create are yours to use for personal projects, gifts, and handmade items. You're welcome to sell finished cross stitch pieces you've stitched yourself (e.g. at craft fairs, on Etsy, etc.).

Commercial use - redistributing or reselling the pattern files themselves (e.g. as digital downloads, in books, or as printed products) is not permitted under the standard or premium tiers. If you're interested in commercial licensing, please get in touch and we can discuss options.

Pattern PDFs and downloads include Xstitchify branding. This branding may not be removed or altered without a commercial licence.

Please make sure you have the right to use any images you upload. Don't upload images that infringe on someone else's copyright, contain illegal content, or that you don't have permission to use.

What You Shouldn't Do

• Use automated tools to scrape or overload the service
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Upload images that are illegal, abusive, or exploitative
• Upload content that infringes someone else's copyright or intellectual property
• Try to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute our tools or source code
• Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

Uploaded Content & Moderation

We do not routinely monitor or review images that are uploaded to the service. Uploads are processed automatically to generate patterns and are not viewed by a person unless there is a specific reason to investigate (such as a report of abuse or a technical issue).

However, we reserve the right to review and remove any content, and to suspend or terminate accounts, if we become aware of content that violates these terms or applicable law. If we discover or are made aware of illegal content, we will remove it and report it to the relevant authorities as required by law.

If you encounter or suspect illegal or abusive content on the service, please contact us immediately.

Service Availability

We do our best to keep Xstitchify running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The site may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, server issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

If there's planned downtime, we'll try to give notice where possible. If something breaks unexpectedly, we'll work to fix it as quickly as we can.

We are not liable for any losses or inconvenience caused by the service being temporarily or permanently unavailable. This is a creative tool, not a mission-critical service, and we provide it on an "as is" basis.

Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features over time as Xstitchify evolves. We'll try to keep the core experience consistent, but we can't promise that every feature will be available forever.

In the unlikely event that we need to shut down the service entirely, we'll give as much notice as we reasonably can so you can download your saved patterns.

Shutting Down or Discontinuing

If we ever need to close Xstitchify:

• We'll provide reasonable advance notice (at minimum 30 days where possible)
• We'll give you the opportunity to download your saved patterns before closure
• We will not offer refunds for the premium one-time payment, as it covers access to the service from the point of purchase - it's not a guarantee of perpetual availability

We hope it never comes to that, but we want to be upfront about it.

Some pages on Xstitchify contain affiliate links, primarily to Amazon for DMC threads and embroidery supplies. When you click these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

These links are always clearly identified. We only link to products that are relevant to cross stitch and that we think you'll find genuinely useful. The commission helps us keep the free tools running.

Intellectual Property

The Xstitchify name, logo, website design, code, and original content (blog posts, tutorials, etc.) belong to us. You're welcome to share links to our content, but please don't copy or republish it without permission.

DMC is a trademark of DMC S.A. We reference DMC thread colours for compatibility and convenience. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by DMC.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Xstitchify and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if anything) in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
