About Thread Colour Conversion
Cross stitch patterns typically specify DMC thread colours, but you might prefer or only have access to Anchor, Madeira, or Cosmo threads. This converter uses Delta E colour distance (CIE76) in the CIELAB colour space to find the perceptually closest match in any brand.
Match quality is rated as Excellent (Delta E under 3 - barely perceptible difference), Good (3-6 - noticeable but similar), Fair (6-10 - obviously different but related), or Approximate (over 10 - use with caution).
